October 31—A helicopter found Buck Wheeler, Jr., who was lost in Bear Swamp. Edenton Wo man’s Club won top honors at district meeting. New car mod els were displayed by local auto mobile agencies. Four stills were captured by ATU officials. November 7—State Highway of ficials conferred with County Commissioners regarding county road needs. It was announced that G. H. lHarding had offered an office in Hotel Joseph Hewcs fur the Chamber of Commerce. November 14 Edenton Aces won first round in playoffs for State Class A football champion ship by defeating Weldon 40-13. Edenton merchants began observ ance of Fall Festival of Values. Mrs. R. H. Bachman presented a valuable collection of hooks to the Shepard-Pruden Memorial Li,- rary. November 21—Edenton’s Aces wort regional honors by defeating Erwin 19-G. Bobby Belch lost his life in a tragic hunting accident. Methodist Men’s Club entertained their wives at a meeting held at the church. Gene Ward left for Chicago, where he participated in a building and loan speaking con test. November 28 Edenton Aces defeated Farmville 28-18 to win the Eastern Class A football championship. Group of state of ficers were guests of the Edenton Chapter of the Eastern Star. Di rectors of the Chamber of Com merce interviewed an applicant for the position of manager. December s—Edenton Arcs de feated Mebane 14-7 to a rain win the State Class A football cham pionship. Tom Ridgeway was appointed Chairman for the 1958 March of Dimes.
