Trailer Court ‘Requirements Pointed Out Due to anticipated influx of personnel at the Naval Air Fa cility, Harvey Point, eleven per sons of the Hertford area have contacted the Health Department in regard to sanitation require ments covering trailer parking (courts. | The Health Department is in iterested in the sanitation of such courts because •parked trailer Coaches may create insanitary Conditions by improper disposal jof sewage and refuse. The condi tions can endanger the health and ‘safety not only of the trailer oc cupants, but the residents of ad jacent areas as well. •* Sanitation, as related to the operation of a trailer court, re quires more than a clean com fortable and attractive vehicle. It involves a safe water supply, »and where all wastes can be dis 'posed of without creating a nuis ance. There is a definite need dor general guidance in the plan ning and operation of trailer courts, so the construction, op eration, and maintenance of these f _areas will be safe and satisfac tory to everyone concerned. The District Board of Health adopted a trailer parking ordin ance in January, 1957. This or dinance defines a trailer court as (any plot of land upon which two or more trailers are parked. Items of sanitation include site provisions, service buildings, wa ter supply, sewage disposal, re fuse disposal, insect and rodent control. A permit is necessary to oper ate such a court. It is requested that any person or persons con sidering construction of - a trail er court first contact the Health Department. Amen.” —Ephesians 3:20-21. Lesson Text: John 20:26-29; Ephesians 1:15-23; Reve lation 7:9-12. Today’s lesson shows adults that Christ’s resurrection assures the church of victory; therefore everyone should live with faith and in great expectation. Studying the first of our lesson texts (the book of John, chapter 20), we are, in effect, examining the fundamentals of FAITH. Here we see Jesus revealing himself to his beloved disciples, and his disciples accepting him gladly. But, in the first revelation after the crucifixion, Thomas, one of the twelve, was not among those present, and, upon his brethren telling him that they had seen the Lord, Thomas replied: “Ex cept I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my fin ger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.” Jesus there fore revealed his presence a sec Chowan County Churches EDENTON BAPTIST REV. THE CHOWAN HERALD, EDENTON, NORTH CAROLINA, THURSDAY APRIL 3, 1958. ond time to his f&llowers, and this time Thomas was present, and Je- j sus commanded him to reach • forth his finger and examine his ' hands, and to reach forth his hand, and thrust it into his side, saying: “Be not faithless, but be lieving.” And Thomas answered him, acknowledging him. Where upon Jesus said unto him: “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” It will be noted that Jesus, in his infinite understanding of his peoples, did not condemn Thomas for having hesitated; he chided him gently, and pronounced a blessing on him and his like; but his greatest blessing was given to those who trusted and believed without hav- , ing evidence presented to them of J his continuing presence after death. There are many like Thomas in our world today, who question blind acceptance of faith. Like Jesus, we should not condemn; we should, rather, make allow ances for them as very human people. The trouble Thomas en countered arose from his lack of knowledge and faith. He did not know that the future was in God’s hands. He wanted to un derstand, but his faith had not yet been stabilized. The honest skeptic such as Thomas deserved prayers, understariding, and sym pathy, more than blame. The • - ■-, Continued cm Page 4—Section 2 ST. ANN’S CATHOLIC FATHER C. F. HILL.
