OAK GROVE CLUB MEETS
. i
Mrs. Dick Byrum presented the
demonstration on “Fabrics—Syn
thetics and Blends”, at the Oak
Grove Home Demonstration Club
meeting last week. Her discuss
ion of fabrics included the vari
ous blends of natural and syn
thetic fibres, characteristics of
each, and information as to price
and care. Club members found
Mrs. Byrum’s demonstration both
interesting and informative.
During the business session,
the treasurer, Mrs. Marvin Ev
ans, gave her report. Serving
suppers has been one of the most
popular fund raising projects for
the Oak Grove Club, and funds
so raised have gone to make im
provements on the building. The
club had helped the 4-H’ers spon
sor a chicken barbecue supper in
connection with the Fat Stock
Show. Plans were made to serve
a group from a local church in
the near future.
The “Homemaker” from Oak
Grove was selected by the group.
In response to an urgent appeal
by the county drive chairman, the
women agreed to cooperate by so
liciting their community for the
Red Cross.
Mrs. Arlon Parks and Mrs.
Robert Lane were hostesses for
the March meeting.
