FIDELIS WIVES CLUB WILL MEET AUG. 27 IN NURSERY The Fidelis Wives Club will meet Wednesday night, August 27, at 7:30 o’clock, base time, in the Nursery Building. Mrs. J. Little will speak to the club. The topic of her lecture will be to familiarize the members of the club with living at Cherry Point. All members are urged to attend. The next regular business meet ing of the club will be held on September 2 at 8 P. M., base time, in the game room of the Staff NCO Club. Band Plans To Issue Uniforms August 25 The Edtnton Junior-Senior High School Band will begin to issue uniforms to its members on Monday, August 25. Members '"ill be fitted between 10 and 12 in the mornings, and 2 and 5 in the afternoons. j Band members will be required to furnish the following items :| White shoes, oxford style—no loafers will be accepted: navy blue or black socks; navy blue tie and white shirt, straight cuffs. No rounded collars will be permit ted and in no events will girls be allowed to use “skirt, waists”. Try-outs will be held for sec tion and assistant section leaders during the week. Students may come in for this purpose any time during the week. Regular band rehearsal will be held on Thursday night. Four new appointments have been made in the band during the past week. In the equipment de partment Mac Privott as Ist as sistant and Jerry Yarborough as 2nd assistant. In the library de partment Vern Goodwin as Ist assistant and C. T. Mizelle as 2nd , assistant. Miss Susan Keller, daughter of Major and Mrs. G. H. Keller, cele brated her ninth birthday on Monday, August 18. Baker, 63, died in a Raleigh hospital at 6:30 o’clock Tuesday morning after a long ill ness. He was a fish culturist for' the U. S. Fish Hatchery before his [ retirement several years ago due to his health. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the j Methodist Church, American Le gion and Improved Order of Red Men. • j I Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Jackson Baker; a brother, | Ervin Baker of Edenton; three sisters, Mrs. Ora Jethro of Cora-. peake and Mrs. Cora Lacy* and Miss Pearl Baker, both of Eden ton.
