The wedding of Miss Lucy Bright Cofield and Dewey Ad miral Hodgin, Jr., was solemnized J in an informal ceremony in the 1 ' chapel of the First Baptist Church at Burlington Friday night at 7:30 o'clock. The bride, who has made her home at Burlington for several years, is the daughter of Mr. and i 1 Mrs. Richard Erie Cofield. Sr., of Edenton, and Mr. Hodgin is the son of Mrs. Dewey Admiral Hod gin, Sr., and the late Mr. Hodgin of Burlington. Dr. Carlton S. Prickett, pastor of the bride, heard the vows of' the double ring service, a! ; program of wedding music was) : presented by Mrs. Kathleen Mer ! rill, organist, and two soloists,) • Bob Waddell and Mrs. Stephen) | Millikin, both of Greensboro. Her tiered veil of illusion fell from a pearl encrusted half-hat of satin, and gauntlets of Chantilly lace ended in points over the hands to com plete her costume, On the white Bible presented to her by the Young Women’s Auxiliary of her church, she carried a natural or chid with streamers tied with pearl-studded bridal leaves. The bride’s honor attendant was her six year old niece, Janet Nor wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Norwood of Burlington. Her dress was of white flock-dot nylon designed with tiered skirt of ruffles; she carried a miniature nosegoy of pink carnations with maline puffs and wore a bandeau of matching flowers. Cofield, Jr., of Oak Ridge, Tenn. Ushers were Steve Cole and James Bowen of Burlington and the wedding director was Miss Frances Seymour of Alamance. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Cofield wore a two-piece dress of maroon faille with pink hat, black accessories and a pink carnation corsage. Mrs. Hodgin chose an ensemble of blue wool with matching hat and black ac cessories and her corsage was of pale blue carnations. After a wedding trip to Nas sau and Miami, the newlyweds will be at home at Burlington. For travel the bride changed to a suit of green tweed with ac cents of mink at the shoulder and at the pocket. She wore a black feather hat with black shoes and accessories, and at her shoulder was the orchid from her wed ding bouquet. Mrs. Hodgin, a graduate of Edenton High School, attended Burlington Business College and is employed in the payroll de partment at the Kayser-Roth Cor poration. She is a member of the Beta Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and is pres ident of the city’s Beta Sigma Phi council.
