C., where she attended the wed ding of her niece, Miss Judith Saunders and Ensign Peter Ste phens, USN, which took place Saturday afternoon at the Chevy Chase Methodist Church. Fol lowing the two o’clock ceremony, a reception was held at the Be thesda Naval Officers’ Club. Mrs. Smith was accompanied to Washington by Mrs. J. Evans Blades and Mrs. William S. R. Owens of Edenton were united in marriage. Saturday afternoon in Capehart’s Baptist Church in Berie County. The pastor, the Rev. Garth Long, officiated. The bride, given in marriage by ‘her father, wore a ballerina i gown of Chantilly lace and tulle over satin styled with an oval neckline-and full skirt of cascad ed ruffles of lace and tulle. Her fingertip veil was attached to a crown of rosepoint lace embroid ered in pearls and sequins and she carried a white Bible with a white orchid. Mrs. Charles Warrington, Jr., of Kinston, sister of the bride,' was matron of'honor. She wore a ballerina gown of blue and car ried pink daisies. The bride’s mother wore a me dium blue dress with hat to match and a corsage of white roses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a dusty rose dress with white ad cessories and a corsage of red sweetheart roses. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Edward Owens, sister-in-law of the bride; Miss Peggy Hughes, Miss Shir ley Baker and Miss Lois Ann Taylor. They also wore blue dresses and carried blue daisies.
