A narrow satin sash formed a bow at the back. Their hats, fashioned of pale pink organza flowers and satin leaves, formed a circlet on top of the head and they carried cascade bouquets of |>ink cymbidiums and English Ivy. i Master Marion Holmes of Eden fon, cousin of the bridegroom, as ring bearer, i Serving as best man was Rich ard N. Hines, father of the bri&e fcroom. Ushers were Coleman Ruffin, Jr., brother of the bride; William S. Bost, Jr., both of Greenville; James T. Cheatham, 111 of Chapel Hill; Francis S. Hicks, William B. Gardner and Jerry Smith of Edenton. For her daughter’s wedding, Jtfrs. Ruffin chose a sheath dress j ©f blue silk organza and a hat of matching seauins and pearls. Her corsage was a white orchid. Mrs. Hines, mother of the bridegroom, wore a dress of champagne lace trimmed with frosted green satin, a matching half-hat of leaves and a green or chid. The bride graduated from Saint Mary’s Junior College and the University of North Carolina and for the past year has been teach ing in the Greensboro City Schools. She was presented at the Raleigh Terpsichorean Club’s 1956 Debutante Ball and is a member of the Chi Omega Soror ity.' The bridegroom is a graduate of Virginia Episcopal School and the University of North Carolina where he is currently enrolled in the School of Dentistry. He is a member of Zeta Psi social fra ternity and Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity. Following the ceremony the bride’s parents entertained at a reception at their home in Brook gpren. For her wedding trip the bride i changed to a costume dress of blue silk linen with match ng hat and accessories and a white or chid lifted from her prayer book. A four branch candelabra holding an arrange ment of white bridal roses, snap dragons, and garlands of smilax centered the table. Serving j pynch and bridal sweets were! Mrs. E. C. Oakley of Camp Lejeune. Miss Ann Ruffin aqd her bridesmaids were honored at a luncheon party Friday by Mrs. L. T. Shotwell, Mrs. V. E. Wells, Jr., and Mrs. J. Bryan Brown, at the home of Mrs. Wells. The > honoree was presented a corsage of gardenias. A three course luncheon was served. An imported hand-em broidered cloth was used on the luncheon table. The 'wedding bell motif was used, white bells i tied with white satin ribbon hung J in a cascade from the chandelier, and, carrying out the theme, small bells with bows of white satin ribbon and lily-ofjfihe-valley marked the place of each guest. Miss Ruffin presented each bridesmaid with a silver picture frame. A silver tray was given the bride-elect by the hostesses. Honoring members of the wed ding party and out-of-town guests j were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Folger, j Jr., Lee Folger HI, and Garrett j Folger received at open house on ■ Friday evening following the wedding rehearsal. j Receiving with the hosts, were Mr. and Mrs. Ruffin and Mr. and Mrs. Hines, parents of the bride and bridegroom. Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Forbes and ' Mr. and Mrs. J. Lloyd Horton 1 presided at punch bowls at op posite ends of the long refractory table. Appointments on the ta ble were a pair of antique can delabra with pink candles on either side of a pink lustre bowl filled with snapdragons on a silk damask pink cloth. On the patio, party snacks, in- ] eluding dips and hors d’oeuvres were passed. Shrimp were serv-! ed from an ice bowl surrounded j with garden fresh vegetables and fruits. On Friday, June 12, at 8 o’clock P. M., a dinner was given after the rehearsal of the Hines-Ruffin wedding, honoring members of 1 the wedding party and the im-| mediate families. Held at the ( home of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Skin-1 ner. Arrange ments of mixed garden flowers j were used throughout the house and on the terrace. A wedding breakfast honoring Mtss Ann Ruffin and Richard Hines was given on Saturday noon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Moye, Jr., with Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Whedbee, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Bost and Mrs. E. C. Wilkerson as assisting hosts. Guests were invited into the dining room for a two-course buffet.
