Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Norfleet Hines of Edenton. The Rev. John Drake, assisted bv the Rev. George B. Holmes of Edenton, officiated. A program i of nuptial music was presented, by Mrs. John S. Kittrell, organ-1 ist; Miss Jane Fuller, soloist, and! the choir under the direction or George Johnson of Oxford. Given in marriage by her fath- / er, the bride wore a formal gown I of silk taffeta, fashioned with aj fitted bodice, short shirred sleeves and a portrait neckline. Thej! bodice and voluminous skirt were appliqued with medalions of alen-|: con lace trimmed with seed pearls and iridescent sequins. The back featured a bustle which i extended into a chapel train. I Her fingertip mantilla was edged with matching alencon lace. She carried a prayer book centered with a white orchid and shower ed with white cymbidiums and stephanotis. The bride followed family tradition by wearing pearl earrings and pin which the pa ternal great-grandmother of the , bridegroom wore at her wedding. It was announced that Chowan County farmers could earn $78.- 241.43 in Agricultural Conserva tion payments under the 1939 Triple-A Farm Program.
