On July 4, the Center Hill
Baptist Church at Tyner was the 1
setting of a double wedding.

came the bride of Ruben Clyde!

Ray Joyner. The Rev. Henry i
V. Napier officiated.
The brides are daughters of i
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Wiggins, j
Mr. Wall is the son of Mrs. Jack
Wall and the late Mr. Wall. Mr. j
Joyner is the son of Mrs. Fonzie
Parker and the late Mr. Willard
Joyner. j
Music was presented by the|
bride’s brother, Joseph Wiggins,
Jr., pianist and Mrs. Marvin
White, soloist.
Miss Jane Wiggins entered the
church on the arm of her father.
Miss Carolyn Wiggins came into
the church with her uncle, C. E. *
Privott of Rocky Mount. Both
brides were given in marriage
by their father.
The brides wore identical
dresses of chantilly lace and
tulle designed with a fitted bo
dice of lace and a 1 bouffant skirt
of tulle appliqued with panels
of lace and embroidered with
iridescent sequins. Their finger
tip veils were attached to a
lace and seed pearl tiara. They
carried a bouquet of white roses
and lily of the valley centered
with a white orchid.
Miss Jane Wiggins chose her
sister, Mrs. Eugene Jordan, as
her matron of honor. Brides
maids were Mrs. Mercer Jones
| of Portsmouth, Mrs. Leon Brick-
I house of Elizabeth City, Mrs. Jo-
Sseph Wiggins, Jr., of Chapel Hill,
j sister-in-law of the bride, and
Miss Novella White of Tyner, the
brides’ cousin. Her flower girl
was her niece Susan Jordan.
Mrs. C. F. Edwards of Rocky
Mount attended Miss Caroilyn
i Wiggins as her matron of honor.

Reuben Bass Has
Painful Eye Injury
Reuben Bass, employee of the
Edenton Ice Company, has the
misfortune Wednesday afternoon
of last week to accidentally burn
•his right eye. Mr. Bass was
cleaning a container for charging
a flake of sodium alum
riate blew in his eye. The eye
ball was burned below the pu
pil but it is not expected to af
fect his sight. He was also
burned about the ears, nose and
mouth.
Mr. Bass is making satisfac
tory progress at his home.
