Today, Thurs-' day, a training meeting for 4-H C.ub Leaders and Parents, will be conducted in our office at 3:®® P. M. The Assistant State Leader for Negro Club Work,’ Mrs. Helen W. Branford, will conduct the training school. Last Wednesday a meeting on “Milk and Good \ Health" was held at my home I for home demonstration Foods ; and Nutrition Project Leaders. These project leaders will be j in charge of the demonstration in club meetings during March.. Those present were: Mrs. Clara 1 Carter, Warren Grove; Mrs. Cleoi White, Green Hall; Mrs. Mary Askew, Virginia Fork; Mrs. Mary Brown, Paradise Road; Mrs. Mary Nixon, Triangle; Mrs. Orena Wills, Canaan Temple; Mrs. Carrie Harrell. The Home Dem onstration County Council made plans to have each neighbor-•’ hood carry a garden campaign and have a garden tour in late! spring. Home demonstration clubs will emphasize having a good vegetable garden alii through the year. Plan your garden to be sure! you will have enough and a ■ New Method For Air Force Recruits According to Sgt. Jimmie Skipper, local U. S. Air Force recruiter, the Air Force has ini tiated a new personnel “Quality Concept” in Air Force procure ment. This has brought about many new changes in local re cruiting procedures. These changes affect every young man j and woman desiring to enlist or obtain information concerning the Air Force. Sgt. Skipper states that a new method of testing is the great est change. Previously all per sonnel desiring enlistment in the Air Force were required to take a thirty minute screening test in their hometown, and uoon pass ing were forwarded to Raleigh for enlistment. The aptitude test was not given until the in dividual was in basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Now, each airman applicant takes the aptitude test in Elizabeth City which deter mines his best aptitude area: the results are used-for training and assignment purposes.
