At recent club meetings, the parden leaders gave reports on the 1960 recommended seed va r:eties for gardens. Miss Edith Hinshaw. home economics agent, reports that soil sample boxes were given to the women so they could test their soil for proper fertilizing. Color In Dress The magic powers of trans format’on in color was discussed with Home Demonstration Club women in Surry County. Neck line blocks of many different colors were used in workshop groups to aid a person in find ing colors that were good se lections. Mrs. E. C. Evans of Franklin Club said. “I am glad to find out that personality and color should always be considered when buying clothes.’' Leader Organization In Perquimans County. 4-H adult leaders are really on the move. For several years they have assisted with 4-H activi ties, giving of their time and service. According to Mrs. Paige L. Underwood. home economics agent, the leaders have been recognized as one of the six outstanding organizations in the state. The group will receive special training in several areas which will better equ ; p them to train the youth. Shares Project Experiences Carolyn Kidd, a 4-H Club member in Moore County, is al ways glad to share her 4-H ex periences with other people. Carolyn attended the local Ro !ary Club meeting and gave the highlights of her past five years in 4-H work, displaying hei medals, record books and rib bons. Mrs. Elizabeth Barringer, as sistant home economics agent, reports that a 525 savings bond was presented to Carolyn for placing third in the state with her dairy calf project. Anniversary Time The Good Morning Home Demonstration Club in Bun combe County has just cele brated one year of organization. This club has a lot of young mothers in the club and they have accomplished many goals in their first year of work.
