For travel she added a mink
jacket of Autumn Haze.
Mrs. Beatty is acting recep
tionist for Melville Dairy and
serves as city hostess for the
City of Burlington. Mr. Beatty
is a partner of R. R. Beatty,
wholesale distributors of Char-i
iotte.
The couple received congratu
lations from the guests in the
vestibule of the chapel. Immed

trip to a winter resort. They
will be at home after March

groom is the son of Mrs. Ethel
Tarkington and the late Jimmy
Tarkington of Roper.
Given in marriage by her
brother. Joe Copeland. Miss
Copeland wore a gown of chan
tillv lace over satin. She car
ried a white Bible with car
nations.
Mrs. Alex Sainton was the
matron of honor.
The bridegroom's brother.
Stanley Tarkington. was best

After the ceremony a recep
tion was held at the bride’s

The Tarkingtons left for a
wedding trip to Virginia.

Two requests for roafl im

the County Commissioners Mon
day, The roads were Paxton
Lane to be treated with asphalt
and to asphalt or tar and rock]
the dirt road that serves people!

Fifty schooT children live on
Paxton Lane and the petition
carried 39 signatures.
The Hobbs Acres road is 600
to 700 feet long and serves nine
residents. It is the only means
of entrance and exit to existing
property owners and the peti
tion bore 21 signatures.
