Fanners Warned j Not To Overplant i ' Bvwy yew, some fiarnrers ini Chowan County are greatly in convenienced by having planted in excess of their allotment on one o ( the basic crops. A, C, Griffin, chairman of the Cho wan ASC County Committee, is «M«d a reminder to all Chowan* County farmers that it is their Responsibility to plant within their acreage allotments. Every year a few farmers over the county, on having their acreage measured by ASC per sonnel, find that they have over planted. Many of these farm- j ers pay additional money out of: their pockets to have a repre-j’ SMStative of the ASC County [ Committee witness disposition of' the ekress- acreage. Other farm ers make a deposit with the ASC office to have officials re-, visa the farm and re-measun t (the acreage. In just about ev-| ery case, this x is an unnecessary! drain on the farmer's pocket-' book, and in every cose the time lost by these revisits to the. farm is an inconvenience to the' farmer. Then, too, every time, a farmer plants in excess of hisj allotment he is wasting seed or plants, fertiliter. and labor. « Flue-cured tobacco farmers j have another responsibility.
