All first place winners! will represent the county in the District Contest to be held in Franklin County, June Ml In the Dress Revue Contest, on die district level, Jean Hall. Warren Grove, will compete in the dressy dress division; Ruby Simons, Virginia Fork, in the sport dress division and Brenda Johnson. Virginia Fork in the school dress division. Judges were: Miss D. The 4-H County Council met on May 14 at White Oak Con solidated School and made the following plans; 1. The Annual 4-H Church Sunday will be held at Cento- Hill Chapel Church, June sth at 3:30 P. M. Four-H Club mem bers will render the service ex cept for the sermon which will be given by a guest nriuister. 2. Boys and girls will attend I 4-H Chib camp the week ©f| July 18. Those attending eamp| will report one half of camp fee by July - 2. 3. Doris Jordan, from the Cen ter Hill Community 4-H Club, was elected Council delegate to 4-H Club Week which will bo held June 20-25 at A. and T. College, Greensboro, N. C. j 4. The Countywide 4-H Rec ' reational Day will be held on July 27th. 5. Four-H Clubs will meet June, July and August bv neigh borhoods. Edenton’s Home Demonstra tion Club held its Yard Im provement Tour last Tuesday. Fourteen Club women 'vent on the tour and we visited eighteen homes. This group is quite in terested in community improve ment. Their goals this year in cluded improvement of yards, porches and steps. As a result of their work all eighteen homes and surroundings were thorough ly clean; eighteen had begun landscaping their yards in keep ing with recommendations from the Extension Service, relative to foundation shrubbery, lawn grass, flower beds, walk and drive ways. All porches and steps were in good repair—four had built concrete steps and walk way. Four members of this town club had vegetable gardens. Other improvements included painted homes inside aiid outside: screened porches. Club members are: Mcsdames Jessie Badhams. Catherine Lewis, Mable Jordan. Clara B. Simons. Ella Foxwell.
