feel that there is a great need
for improving our woodlands.
It’s a source of increasing farm
income. We have too many areas
of cut-over woodland not pro

come.
The field day will be held at
the Churchill farm of Carroll and
Fahey Byrum about 10 miles
north of Edenton on NC 32 high
way.

Coastal Bermuda
L. N. Hollowell reports that
his coastal bermuda grass is
looking good. He applied 2-4-D
about two weeks ago to kill the
broadleaf plants. Monday, May
31, he applied 700 pounds of
14-0-14 per acre. He thinks he
will get some grazing after July
on his 10 acres.
Yates Parrish. Edenton, re
ports that he has a lot of com
petition from weeds in his coas
tal bermuda grass pasture. He
thinks it will come out all right
after some grazing and fertilizer.
He has planted millet for sum-1
mer grazing and a cross of Su
dan grass millet. This should
help his summer grazing pro
gram.
