During the winter, soft rot de veloped in the cold damaged po tatoes and humidity in the house went up. There must have been | other contributing factors to the; humidity rise. Maybe if the house had been watched closely and ample ventilation afforded, when humidity rise began, the soft rot problem may have been; held down. I hope that all of you cotton growers are shooting for high yields this year, two-bale yields are possible. You cannot make the best yield if insects are al lowed to take their toll. So, watch your fields carefully throughout the season. Right now, examine the plants for aphids or lice and look in the tup buds for boll weevil. If you find insects then begin your dusting program immediately. When you begin, follow through with at least three applications at seven day intervals. When your cotton begins to square, make individual square surveys and if vou begin to find punc tured square, follow through with the three to four application pro gram.
