PAGE TWO b-BBCTiOK 1 News r By HARRY VENTERS j Aniitlol County Agent The next big event on the 4-H calendar is State 4-H Club Week. I guess of all the weeks in <the year, this is the biggest one for 4-H’ers. There will be over 1200 4-H’ers, representing •very county in North Carolina, at North Carolina State College the week of July 25-30. : Each county is allowed to take two delegates from each of the 4-H Clubs in that county, so Chowan can take 22 boys and girls. This is in addition to dis trict demonstration winners and the County Health King and Queen. All delegates must be at least 14 years old, so junior clubs will have to - ' be represent e older club members. Four-H Club members are re quired to be in 4-H uniform during most of the time in Ra- Teigh, so it is necessary to plan ahead if you would like to at tend. Girls’ uniforms consist of: a green and white corovan with' a pleated skirt and fitted bodice with short sleeves. They can not be bought—they must be made. Patterns are available from most of the major pattern companies, so if you would like to go, you’d better get started sewihg. Miss Aman will be glad to teli you where to get the ma terial and answer any other questions. She might also show you how to put in a zipper or sleeve, if you ask her real nice. The boys’ uniform is green pants, which can be bought, with white shirt and green tie. The 4-H emblem is on the pocket. Short sleeved white shirts, open at the neck may also be worn, ril be glad to furnish further information about the boys’ uni firm. Both the boys’ and girls’ uni forms are very attractive. It really adds a lot to 4-H Club Week to have everyone in uni form and also answers the ques tion of what to take to wear.
