The wedding took place June
11 at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Alphonso Elliott, uncle and aunt
of the bride. The double ring
ceremony was performed by the
Rev. Edward Stewart of Wash
ington County, assisted by the
Rev. Frank Fortcscue, pastor of
the Chowan Charge.
The bride wore blue embroid
ered dacron dress, white wreath
hat and corsage of white orchid.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Frank Taylor of Merry Hill,
aunt of the bride.
Best man was the father of
the bridegroom.
Immediately after the cere
mony a reception was held by
Mi's. Elliott and Mrs. Taylor.

WARD CLUB MEETING

tion Cluo met June 22 at the
club house with Mrs. Numey
Chappell presiding. Ten mem
bers answered to roll call by
giving the number of points
they had won relative to club
activities during the preceding
month.
The club was happy to hear
the reading of the treasurer’s
report, namely that the money!
was on hand: also that a note I
had been paid in full for money
the club borrowed three years
before to finish floors of the
main room and to cover kitchen

on skis and, wearing a life belt!

he lifts the tips of the skis just
out of the water. At this timej
the driver of the boat will tight
en >the tow rope that the student
is holding and when it is set,
the driver accelerates the boat.
The skis will no doubt wobble
for a minute or two, but this'
should not worry the student,!
