PAGE TWO -mere® oks WITH THE FARM WOMEN By MAIMED MORRIS 4-H Outing For a “tall fishing story” one should ask Mr. and Mrs. Chester Counts and the Cape Fear 4-H Club members about the 40 fish they caught while camping out for; a week-end.' Miss Emmie Low Teal, assist ant home economics agent in New Hanover County, reports the 4-H’ers began their outing on I Friday afternoon. They carried their food, sleeping gear, and of course, their fishing equipment. On Sunday, many of their fami lies went down and visiting dur ing the day. 4-H*«rs Tour And Picnic Adult 4-H leaders in Alamance County assisted in planning a tour and picnic for 4-H’ers in the county. The group visited the homes of several 4-H mem bers in the Elon and Altama haw-Ossipee communities to view their 4-H project work. Mrs. Ruth Joyner, assistant home economics agent, says the tour ended at Troxler's Lake' with swimming, a picnic supper j and fellowship. A program on farm pond safety was presented at the lake site. Baby Chicks Vaccinated Have you had your baby chicks vaccinated? Nine 4-H’ers in Halifax County were given baby chicks in March as mem bers of the 4-H poultry chain. The 700 chicks have recently been vaccinated for fowl pox. Miss Martha Lee York, assist ant home economics agent, re ports the following 4-H’ers have chicks: Jack Whitfield. Mark Twisdale Eleanor Padgett, Rob ert House, Linda Hamill, Fran ces Anderson, Peggy Liles, Au brey Walker, and Brenda Allen.
