Mrs. Lillie Evans Jones, 80, died Monday morning at 1:30, ; o’clock at her home on East! ,-Queen Street following a two-j year period of ill health. She was a native of Hertford Coun ty, but lived in Edenton about 40 years. She was the widow . of H. B. Jones. . Mrs. Jones attended school in Hertford County and the S. L. Sheep Academy in Elizabeth City and after her graduation was a school teacher in the Hertford County schools until she married Mr. Jones. ■ Surviving are a son, William P. Jones; three daughters, Mrs. Otis Stone of Stoneville, N. C., Mrs. Helen J. Huffines of Ar lington, Va., and Mra William Vogedes 111 of Sanford; two brothers, D. N. Evans of Har tillsville and E. R. They defeated Cross Roads 8-0 Thursday .night on the two-hit pitching of Bob Goldsby. i The winners collected 10 hits off] losing pitcher Jeff Ward. Golds-1 by banged out a 375-foot home run for Rocky Hock. Monday night Rocky Hock played Riddle at Camden. They won this game by a 6-4 score. Zackie Harrell was the winning pitcher and Forbes was the los ing pitcher. Rocky Hock, collect ed only four hits, while* Harreil gave up only two. Tuesday night Rocky Hock was defeated 4-2 by the Creswell All Stars. Bob Goldsby was the losing pitcher, although he pitch |*d a,no-hitter and-struck out 13 j [batters- Six Rocky Hock errors!
