PAGE TWO MChunQga Blue Jays Overtake Dodgers In Softball The Blue Jays did it at last On Thursday the Jays and the Dodgers hooked horns in battle royal for the first place. The Dodgers who had dominated the league all summer, finally had to yield to the much inspired Jays, who kept picking away until they caught up with their nemesis by beating them to the tune of 9-1. As the season draws to a dose, it has been one of the busiest and most enjoyable, not ohly for the teenagers, but the grownups, who pitched horse shoes, played basketball tennil and also became boosters for their favorite teams. It can' truly be said that juvenile de-| lmquency received a staggering death blow, because officers of the law certainly enjoyed their summer and moved along with greater ease. Coach Hunter and' his assistants who cooperated] with "him should be given vo-| ciferous praise for this splendid demonstration of what organiz-l ed recreational guidance can do in a community. This spirit of respect and sportsmanlike atti tude should affect the conduct of the boys and girls in school to a great extent. Thanks is again extended for the interest shown by the Wo man's Club in its advocacy of this project and thanks go to the City Fathers who made it possible, by giving their okay and to John A. Holmes for agreeing to direct it. The Tigers have moved into first place in this hotly contest ed battle. LEAGUE STANDING All American W L Pet.
