Mgs Ceremony Performed In Methodist Church ■ Wednesday, Sept 7 The Edenton Methodist Church was the setting on Wednesday afternoon, September 7, at 3 O’clock for the wedding of Miss Peggy Ann Halsey and Wendell M. Ginnings. The Rev, Ralph Fowlkes officiated in a double ring ceremony. The church was decorated with large baskets of white mums, palms, and spiral can delabra. Mrs. John J. Ross of Edenton rendered soft wedding music throughout the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Ellsworth Halsey, Jr., of Edenton. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul M. Ginnings of Greensboro, N. C. The bride, wno was given in marriage by her father, wore a street length dress of white nyt»n chiffon over lace. The dress was fashioned with a scoop neckline and three-quarter sleeVes. Her full skirt was ac cented by a white satin cum berbund. Her veil was ar ranged from a nylon pleated cloche which was garlanded with drop pearls and rhinestones. She carried a cascade of white mums centered with an orchid. 'Her jewelry consisted of pearl earrings and pearl necklace, a gift from the bridegroom. Mrs. Durwood Leigh Barber, JrJ; of Winfall, was matron ofi hoifcir for her sister. She wore a Wtreet length dress of blue chjtfon over taffeta and head bald of matching chiffon and veiVet. She carried a cascade of yellow daisies. The bridegroom’s father was beftt man. Durwood Barber. Jr., brother-in-law of the bride, ser ved as usher. Infs. Halsey chose for her daughter’s wedding a street] length dress of French blue da-j cro* with black patent accessor- 1 iel - Mrs. Ginnings wore a street 1 length dress of blue with ac-j cessories of black for her son’s! wgdding. Both mothers wore cotaages of pink roses. Mrs. Willie White of Edenton Wag mistress of ceremonies. Minton Dixon Dies At Virginia Beach Minton Hughes Dixon. 67. died in a Virginia Beach hos pital Friday night. September 2. at 8 o’clock after an illness of three weeks. Mr. Dixon was a native of Edenton. a son of Minton Hughes Dixon and Mrs. Sallie Dillard Dixon and the widower of Mrs. Julia Dodson Dixon. A member of an old and prominent Eden ton family, he moved to the Nor i folk area about 20 years ago and at the time of his death he was secretary - treasurer of the Thoroughgood Corporation at Bavside and lived at Virginia Beach. While living in Edenton Mr. Dixon took an active part in civic affairs ,and was a mem ber of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He also served in the Navy during World War 11. j Surviving are three daugh j ters, Mrs. Julia Proctor. Mrs. ! Sallie Morrow and Miss Laura I Dixon, all of Virginia Beach: a J brother. MacDonald of Eliza ! beth City ; a sister, Mrs. A. H. Vann of Franklinton. N. C.. and four grandchildren. Graveside services were held in Beaver Hill Cemetery Sun .' day afternoon at 4 o’clock by the j Rev. George B. Holmes, rector [(of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, assisted by the Rev. George F.
