Chowan Fair Will Be Held Neat Week it Continued from Pago 1. Section 1 of all' articles entered in the fair as well as the claim checks. "Chowan _ County is fortunate in having the only county fair in the . Albemarle area,” says Mr. Marsh. “The fair giv-s all our «Citizens an opportun:! v to exhibit their field crops, vege tables, flowers, garments and handicraft to the public.” Competition among the educa tional booths is high this year, with nine organizations trying for the grand champion trophy. This is a beautiful r 3-inch trophy awarded annually by Home Feed & Fertilizer Company. If the same organiza' on wins it three consecutive times, it becomes permanent property and another trophy will be issued. All 4-H, FHA and NHA Club girls are urged to enter the yeast'bread contest. Prizes to taling $lO are offered for the best yeast rolls or loaf bread. This contest is also open to adult women; also men in case they can bake yeast bread. School children’s days will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. School children of Chowan, Perquimans and Bertie County, will be admitted by pass which they may get at school. Winslow Is Recorded Minister For Friends Louis Irving Winslow, promi nent Belvidere business man, was recorded a minister of North Carolina Yearly Meeting of Friends in a service held at the New Garden Meeting at Guilford College, Greensboro, re cently. The Rev. Mr. Winslow is the son of Mrs. N. B. Winslow of Gates, N. C., and the late Mr. Winslow. He is married to the former Azalea Chappell of Cho wan County and they have one daughter, Miss Lois Violet Wins low, who graduated in July from East Carolina College, Green ville, N.
