Crenshaw Rocky Hock Baptist Church | was the setting for wedding Sunday afternoon, October 2, at $ o'clock when Miss Harriet Ann Pearce became the bride of Mar vin Richard Crenshaw, Jr., in a double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Linwood Pearce of Edenton and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Richard Cren shaw of Alexandria, Va. The Rev. Thurman Allred of ficiated in a setting of mixed white flowers, palms and candle light. Mrs. James Chamblee of Chowan College, Murfreesboro, presented the music and accom panied Miss Linda Sheek, also of Murfreesboro, as soloist, who sang “O Perfect Love,” “The Sweetest Story Ever Told” and as a benediction ‘‘The Wedding Prayer”. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of chantilly lace and chalk white delustred peau de soie fashioned with a scalloped neckline em broidered with seed pearls and sequins. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a pointed waist line and long sleeves. The full skirt with chapel train was worn over a bustle. Her shoulder length veil of silk French illus ion was attached to a crown of seed pearls. She carried a white prayer book centered with a white purple-throated orchid showered with ribbons and fern. The bride’s dress was designed and made by her sister, Mrs. Vandie Bvrum of Suffolk, Va. Miss Marion Bunch of Eden ton, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor and Mrs. Vandie Byrum, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. They wore jewel blue taffeta dresses with scooped necklines accented with blue velveteen cumberbunds. They wore dior bow headpieces of blue velveteen with circular veils and carried bouquets of mixed bronze flowers tied with matching ribbons. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Clif ford Perry of Suffolk, Va.; Miss Audrey Marriner of Norfolk, Va.; Misses Mary Alice Perry and Loretta Bunch of Edenton, cous ins of the bride. They wore dresses identical to those of the honor attendants and carried bouquets of mixed bronze flow-} ers. Little Harlan Pettys of Norfolk was ring bearer and Wanda Jean Byrum, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Betty Byrum, Margaret White and Gloria Miller. Marvin Richard Crenshaw was best man for his son. Ushers were: Linwood Pearce, brother of the bride; Henry Allen Bunch of Edenton, uncle of the bride; Vandie Byrum of Suffolk, broth er-in-law of the bride, and Her bert Hollowell, Jr., of Ports mouth, Va., a cousin of the bride. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Pearce cr.ose royal blue crepe dress and blue hat with matching accessories. She wore| a corsage of pink roses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue silk shantung dress, with matching accessories andi a corsage of white roses. Mrs. Heniy Bunch and Mrs. 1 Eddie Nixon were mistresses of ceremony. Immediately following the' ceremony a reception was held! at the Rocky Hock Community Center. For her wedding trip to Wash ington, D. C., the bride changed to a blue tweed suit. She worei a blue feathered hat and black 1 accessories and the orchid lift- j ed from her prayer book. Upon their return they will be at home in Norfolk, Va. Mrs. Lloyd Bunch and Mrs.i Haywood Bunch entertained at a| rehearsal. party at the home of j Mrs. Lloyd Bunch in Edenton. A color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the] decorations and refreshments.! Mrs. Henry Allen Bunch poured punch and Mrs. Jeff White and Mrs. Gus Hughes assisted in serving. On Sunday Mrs. Henry Bunch, Mrs. Kermit Perry, Mrs. Ken neth Miller and Mrs. Eddie Nix on entertained the wedding par ty and out of town guests at a luncheon at the Rocky Hock Community Center. Refreshments consisted -of orange and chocolate cake, chicken salad on crackers, sweet pickles, deviled egg, chocolate fudge, potato chips and cup cakes decorated to spell out “We hate to see you go.” The paster and his wife were presented 1 with several lovely and useful gifts, including a relish dish, a 1 Heviled-eee plate, pillow cases, handkerchiefs, and a wall plaque.
