Miss Sally Privott Selected To
f Compete For SSOO Scholarship
Mrs- Gordon Maddrey, presi
dent of the North Carolina Fed
eration of Woman’s Chibs, has
chosen as her main project dur
ing her two-year administration
a scholarship fund to be raised
by the club women themselves
either by giving SI.OO per mem
ber or by projects within their
clubs. A fund of $20,000 is an
ticipated within the two-year;
fund raising effort, and the in-(
terest will then be used for.
several scholarships.
This is considered one of the j
oatstanding scholarships so
girls in the State. The State
Federation has been a pioneer J
in inaugurating programs for
the benefit of young people and
the "Dollars for Scholars” pro
gram is carrying out the tradi
tion already set. There is a
dire need for giving aid to young |
women of unusual ability who,
desire a college education but
who are financially handicapped.
The scholarships are administer
ed through the Greater Univer
sity.
