Over 2,000 Witness Promotional Film Continued from Page 1, Section 1 said that the Edenton film would i be seen over 227 television sta-1 tions throughout the country j the first year. Within several j weeks, the film will be released to 20 stations, many within the viewing area of Edenton and surrounding towns. John Gra ham at the afternoon perform ances and the Rev. George B.! Holmes at the 5:45 show, made direct appeals to the public for contributions to complete pay ing for the film, which was sponsored by the James Iredell Historical Association and the local DAR chapter. Both men; pointed out that the film time! was extended by the sponsoring i organizations in order to in-: elude as much' of the wealth of material on hand as possible. Comments on the film were without exception enthusiastic and very complimentary. Many commented on their amazement at the beauty and continuity of the film, and the way in which the film covered so much of such interest. Such words as “marvelous,” “exceptionally well-done”, “en lightening and beautiful” were heard. Many out-of-town persons were in Edenton for the premi ere. In a group of men from Norfolk was Noland Chandler, general manager of the Chesa peake Bay District Ferry Cbm mission. Many other Virginia visitors were here, as well as guests from many other towns in North Carolina. The film is available for loan to organizations and groups de siring to show it for programs from the Edenton Tea Party Chapter, DAR. The chapter re ports that requests are rapidly coming in for the film, with sev eral from towns in Western North Carolina, through mana gers of Chambers of Commerce, and several from Virginia towns. Bishop Alexander, president of the Advertising Service Agency, who handles advertising for the Ocean Hiway Association, was unable to attend the premiere las planned, due to illness. Mr. Alexander, in regretting his be ing unable to attend, pointed out that Edenton had taken a great step forward in having the film which he felt sure would pay great dividends in a short while.
