Following a delightful coffee
hour the president, Ruth Hoyle,
opened a brief business session
at which time the resignation
of Mrs. Phoebe Owens as Secre
tary of the Chapter was accept
ed, and Mrs. Margaret Maston
was elected to serve the unex
pired term as Secretary to the
Chapter.
Mrs. Owens’ resignation came
because she has accepted a Fel
lowship in Library Science from
East Carolina College, at Green
ville. L
A three course luncheon was
served at 1 o'clock in the dining
room of the church by a group
]of the ladies fro mthe church
I Circles. Lovely holiday candles
and decorations were used
throughout the room.
Following the luncheon a
highly informative program was
given on A Traveler in Scuth
Africa, with Thelma Elliott as
leader. Taking part in the dis
cussion was Mrs. Shelton Hill,
Mrs. Margaret Maston and Mary

Mrs. Anna Gilbert Russick of Elmira, N. Y„ announces the en
gagement of her daughter. Rose Marie, to James E. Jordan of Ty
ner. Miss Russick is a second grade teacher in the Juneau-Douglas
schools at Juneau, Alaska. She received her degree at Buffalo
Slate Teachers College, Buffalo, N. Y.. and has done graduate work
at Brockport State Teachers College and Elmira College. Mr. Jor
dan is an electronics technician with the United States Coast Guard
and is presently stationed in Juneau. The Couple plan to be mar
ried on December 17 in Juneau, Alaska.
