Her bridesmaids were Miss Anna Williams of Edenton, Miss Jeanette Perry of Hobbsville,, Miss Mary Ann Hare of Eden ton, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Arnold C. Hill, Jr., sister of the bridegroom, of Quantico, Va.' They wore red velveteen dress es fashioned after the maid of honor, carried white fur muffs with holly sprigs and wore fur headpieces. Miss Joan Hare, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. Following the rehearsal on Saturday night, a rehearsal par ty was given at the home of Mrs. Frank Hughes with Mrs. Hughes as hostess. Guests were greeted by Mrs. Hughes and di rected to the dining room where a beautiful bride’s table was laid. Mrs. Hare, mother of the bride, served the wedding cake and Mrs. Peele, mother of the bridegroom, poured the punch. Other refreshments enjoyed by the guests were: Nuts, mints., cheese straws, peanut butter sticks and ham biscuits. There were approximately 25 guests present. On Wednesday evening, No vember 24, Mrs. J. D. Peele, Mrs. Wallace Peele and Mrs. Isaac Harrell were hostesses honoring Miss Kay Hare and Carrol Peele at a floating shower in the Oak Grove Community Building. The building was beautifully decorat ed in a yellow and white color 'scheme. The guests were greet ed by Miss Hare and Mr. Peele. Delicious refreshments were ser ved to approximately 50 people. The home of Mrs. Robert Ev ans was the scene for a Coca- Cola party on Friday, November 25. The hostesses were Miss Margie Evans and Mrs. Robert Evans. The home was beauti fully decorated in a yellow and white color scheme and delicious refreshments were served con sisting of ham biscuits, block cake, peanuts, potato chips, rib bon sandwiches and Coca-Colas. Those who attended were: Faye Ober, Betty Bunch, Janet Par rish, Lynda Copeland, Emily Leary, Jackie Asbell, Kathryn Tynch, Kathleen Ward, Mrs. Wil bur Hare, Susan Evans and the honoree, Kay Hare. According to Miss Anne Ben son Priest, home economics agent, Mrs. Meece sold some of her col orful corn and gourds to a local grocery store so customers could I buy them for decorations. Civic Clubs Support 4-H Program Mrs. Ruth Joyner, assistant home econjr.iics agent in Ala mance County, reports the Bur lington Kiwanis Club is certain ly a friend of 4-H Club mem : bers. “The club recently recognized the county 4-H winners with 1 awards and presented pins to the club members completing their j project work,” says Mrs. Joyner. “Later, some of the 4-H mem bers presented a program on 4-H work at the Kiwanis Club meet- 1 ing.
