Conservation Farm Planning
J. E. Brabble, Yeopim Com

crop rotations to get a four year
rotation for peanuts. Cover
crops >are included plus small
grain for harvest.
He planned a complete drain-1
age system starting with onel
open ditch this year, one in ]
1962, 1963 and 1964. Surface
drains will be used, too. Tile
drainage will be installed in the
wetter spots of the field.
He planned woodland practices
to bring into production a woods
that was heavily cut two years
ago. Pine seedlings will be set
in open areas and in areas
where “wolf-trees” are poisoned.
Mr. Brabble is in the Burnt
Mill Creek watershed and Ls us
ing Lateral No. 3 for his drain
age outlet. Before the water
shed project he did not have a
drainage outlet and couldn’t get
one.

port of the watershed planning
party was read to them. Land
