Section 1 in the latter category, those who have expressed interest are May or John A. Mitchener, Jr., Sher iff Earl Goodwin, Edenton Police Chief George Dail and Fire Chief W. J. Yates, it was learned. “Within six months after or-i ganization of the Edenton CAPj senior unit,” Ehringhaus said, “we should be ready to open membership in the squadron to cadets. The national cadet pro gram of the CAP is for the youngsters of high school age who are interested in aviation and in learning all they can of the aerospace educational pro gram in which the Civil Air Pa trol can assist them. As much stress is given to the cadet pro gram as to the senior program, but the Edenton senior squadron will first need to establish it self with trained personnel and equipment before the cadet pro gram can be successfully at-1 tempted.” Future plans indicate 'that quarters and meeting room will be available for the Edenton CAP unit on the recently ac quired Edenton municipal air port, and with the excellent op erational facilities of the airport itself the local unit should de velop into one of the better units in Group 111. There are 1 seven groups of the North Caro- I lina Wing under Colonel Donald ! Denton, Commander, based in Charlotte. The CAP in a na tional emergency would function as a part of the N. C. State Civil Defense organization. All women are mothers of great men—it isn’t their fault if life disappoint them later. —Boris Pasternak.
