Belk, executive vice president of Belk Stores Services, has announced the pre sentation of the Top Volume Award to the Belk-Tyler group of fourteen department stores located in Eastern Carolina. The presentation was made at the managers’ convention now being held at the Carolina Hotel at Pinehurst, N. C. . In making the award to Ar thur L. Tyler, it was brought out that the local group of stores had for a period of six years consecutively made top volume increases in sales volume. It was particularly noted that the recent ‘‘Founder’s Days Promo tion” was an example of con tinued increases in volume. In attendance with Mr. Tyler at the Convention are the mana gers of the Belk-Tyler Stores who are participating in the an nual business conference of this southern department store or ganization. Jaycees Participate In Recognition Program Edenton Jaycees will partici pate this year in the scholastic achievement recognition program aimed at focusing greater atten tion on the scholastic achieve ments of high school students. • W. H.
