P. Monds gave the] demonstration on “Cleaning and Cleaning Tools” at the May 23rd meeting of the Center Hill Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Monds stressed using the proper cleaning tools for the right job. She also showed a few cleaning aids which she had found useful in cleaning. Mrs. J. C. Boyce, president, gave a very inspiring devotion, which was taken from “The Home Life” magazine, using Proverbs 2;2 on wisdom and un derstanding. Mrs. Henry Napier led in prayer. Announcement was made of the 4-H strawberry show and sale Friday, May 26, and mem bers were urged to support the 4-H’ers. The club welcomed Mrs. Carol Bunch as a new member. The meeting adjourned using the Club Collect. . Covered Dish Enjoyed By Center Hill Group The Center Hill Community enjoyed a delicious covered dish supper at the Community Building May 16. Thirty people were present. Mrs. Cameron Boyce, presi dent of Community Development Program, called for a short business meeting. Discussion of plans for building a new com- I munity building was brought be- 1 fore the group. C. W. Overman! and the Rev. H. V. Napier show- 1 jed plans d rawn up f OT a com | munity building. The plans were then turned over to the Community Building Chairman, Emmett Jones, who was to bring a report to the June meeting. A treasurer’s report was given by Mrs. Helen Hollowell. Tri-County Christian Mission Slated To Be Held June 3-6 Methodist : churches in this area will join in the Tri-County Christian Mission to be held in Plymouth June 3-6. Services will be at 7 o’clock each night. The speaker will be Dr. Harry Denman, general secretary of Board of Evangelism of the Methodist Church. There will be a 100-voice choir from the 21 Methodist churches of this -area, directed by John Lowery to pro vide special music for the meet ings. The services will take place in the Plymouth High School gymtorium which has a seating capacity of 2,000 and those in charge anticipate a full house each night. The theme of the meetings is “Jesus Christ Is Lord”. LIONS MEET MONDAY Edenton’s Lions Club will meet Monday night, June 5, at 7 o’clock.
