5-WCTTOir TWO PAGE SIX You Cannot Escape God By TERRY JONES For I acknowledge my trans gressions; and my sin is ever be fore me. Psalm 51:3. i Have you ever wondered where God is? Is He is Heav en, somewhere in the clouds, or is He on earth? God is every 1 where. Have you ever done anything wrong and then tried to forget it but could not? We can't es cape from ourselves, and it is just as hard to escape from God. You can climb the highest moun tain, or go to the very depths of the sea and God is there. Christ is asking you that are heavy laden to cast every sin and burden on Him and trust Him to save you—not to try to save yourself. I You can’t escape God’s call to you. Jonah felt the call of God and he tried to escape by going to another land. Os course he failed. At least six countries have chosen the month Julius Caesar named after himself in which to throw off the tyranny of a foreign power, according to j World Book Encyclopedia. And several nations have found the hottest month of the year a good time to relinquish control will ingly of their possessions. The Dutch may have started the trend. They declared them selves independent of Spain back on July 26, 1581. A few centuries later, in 1830. the Bel gians got the idea and broke away from the Netherlands. Jonah was delivered from the fish and then he carried out God’s will to preach to the city of Ninevah, and was a success. (3) God had mercy on him and gave him another chance in life. | (1) God is calling you from your life of sin to repent and to look unto Jesus with all your sin and strife. (2) If you fail God’s will in your life, as Jonah first did, you will be punished. (3) If you repent and turn to Christ, God will have mercy on you and open a new world in 1 Jesus for you. Despite the fact that the young teacher was working hard on a full-time job at low pay to support his family, and trying to complete requirements for a doctor of philosophy de gree, he took that class and stayed with them until they C^666 graduated from high school and went away either to college or to war.
