father of the bride, and the Rev.
I Hoyle T. Allred, of Albemarle,
j uncle of the bride.
Organ music was presented by
Mrs. William S. Holton of Lake
land, an aunt of the
bride. Vocalist was Miss Net
tie Jean Bunn of Spring Hope, a
I former classmate of the bride.
Music included “Wedding Pray
er” by Dunlop, “The Greatest of
i These Is Love” by Ditgood and
| “Song of Ruth” by Gounod,
j The bride was given in marri
age by her father. She wore a
ballerina-length gown of Chan
tilly lace and silk organza. The
lace bodice featured a scalloped
neckline and tiny covered but
tons down the back. Panels of
chantilly lace extended from the
waist bow. The veil of bridal
illusion was shoulder length and
fell from a crown of seed pearls.
The bride carried a white Bible
showered with an orchid and
stephanotis.
The bride’s college room-mate,
Miss Barbara Harris of Denton,
was maid of honor. She wore
a pale blue strength-length
sheath covered by a blue silk
organza overskirt. She wore a
j matching head-piece and carried
J a casccade of yellow pompoms.
! Bridesmaids were Miss Violet
! Pearce of Louisburg, Miss Pa
tricia Gamble of Waxhaw, and
, Miss Dianne Childers of Reck- j
I ingham, all former classmates.!
I They wore a deeper blue dress 1
jof the same type as the maid,
iof honor and carried similar
flowers.

niece of the bridegroom, were’
i junior bridesmaids. They wore
blue dresses of polished cotton
with matching head-pieces and
carried smaller cascades of yel
low. |
| The bridegroom’s father was 1
his best man. Ushers were Da- 1
j vid Allred and Jimmy Allred,
brothers of the bride; Glenn
Bunch and S. J. Bunch, brothers- j
in-law of the bridegroom; John
Paul Bass; and Thomas Daven
port, Alton Strickland and
Thomas King, all of Raleigh. i

I the wedding.
The bride was graduated from
Wingate Junior College in May
of this year. Mr. King, after
graduation from Chowan High
School, received special train
ing while serving with the Unit
ed States Air Force and is now
employed by the Federal Avia
tion Agency with offices in Ra
leigh.
Following a wedding trip, the
couple will reside on Shepherd
Street in Raleigh.
