JOHN L. GOODWIN. JR. In the Burgaw Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, Miss Eliz abeth Parker Rich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ray Rich, became the bride of John Leon Goodwin, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Goodwin of Eden ton. Dr. Francis Chesson officiat ed. Music was rendered by Mrs. Eugene Brown, organist, and . Mrs. Harold Peedin, vocalist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of silk organza with a bodice of re-embroidered Alencon lace. Her veil was attached to a pill box of lace and she carried a bouquet of tuberoses, feathered carnations and a white orchid. Her “Something old” was an heirloom handkerchief carried by her maternal great aunt on her wedding day. Miss Theda Ann Goodwin, sister of the bridegroom of Edenton, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. William Christopher Blossom of Wallace, Miss Mary Hazel Moore, Mrs. Donald Ray Nanney of Winston-Salem and Miss Marion Irene Parker of Gates. They wore hyacinth dresses. Eugene Marion Ward of Rocky Mount was best man. Ushers were Raymond Ray Rich, Jr., brother of the bride of North Wilkesboro, John Theodopholes Skiles and Ralph Outlaw of Edenton and Ernest White, Jr., of Raleigh. The bride attended Campbell College and is a graduate of East Carolina dollege. She will teach in the Windsor crty schools. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.
