Grooms, Field Repre sentative of the Norfolk, Ya., Social Security District Office, there are some married women who still carry the same old Social Security cards they had before they were wed; Some fail to make the changes months, or even years, after they have changed their napies from Miss to .Mrs. The key to your Social Se curity record is your Social Se curity account number card. No one Should have more than pne' Social Security number, yet it is possible to have more than one card under different names. Jim Griffin is scheduled to explain the as sets of the impounded irriga tion, pond. Arrival time at the Jordan farm is 3:30 P. M. A large cattle feeding opera tion will be visited on the fourth stop which will be the Sidney Hofler farm near Sun bury. Arrival time is scheduled for 4:15. This is an outstanding farm operation and will be 'ex plained and its work will be outlined by George Lewis. The fifth stop for the touring group will be in the Advance pommunity at the R-, C. If you can, it is best if you bring your old Social Se curity card to the nearest So cial Security office; in Norfolk the address is 220 W. Bramble ton Avenue. Also from this dis trict office, contact points are maintained at Edenton, N. C., on Thursday of each week begin ning at 10:30 A. M.; and at Hertford, 1 N. C., the second Wed nesday of each month begin ning at 10:00 A. M. The So cial Security people will issue you a new Social Security card with the same account number you had but under your new! name. ; County Agent, will explain the) test plot of seven peanut va rieties. The sixth and last stop of the tour will be made at the Tom Francis farm also in the Advance community. Here West Leary will explain the peanut growing practices utilized. Ar rival time is scheduled for 5:45 P. M. From here the tour will go to the National Guard armory in Edenton to take part in the annual Farm Bureau fish fry. Those wishing to go in this tour should signify their intent with either George Lewis at the Peoples Bank or J. M. Robinson at the Chamber of Commerce office. DAR MEETS SEPT. 13 Mrs. George Hoskins, regent of the Edenton Tea Party Chapter of the DAR, announces that the first fall meeting wiH be held Wednesday afternoon, September 13. The meeting will be held at the Iredell house' at 3:30 o’clock. Mrs. Inglis Fletch er will be the principal speaker so that all members are urged 1 to attend.
