Checks to the individual municipalties will be imailed from Raleigh the latter part of this month in order that they will reach municipalities fey October 1. 3 The total allocation this year 1 tepresents an increase over 1960 of $337,234.25, but in the case of approximately 60% of the participating municipalities, this year’s allocation wll be less than the 1960 allocation. This is brought al>out. by the fact that a new municipality population hasp is being used for the first time. The Powell tut statute calls for the use of ie latest certified federal de , cennial census figures.
