Dodd of Connecticut claims that de spite FCC hearings, testimony to the contrary, documents .show that network officials at times have ordered more sex and vio lence in tee-vee to boost rat ings. * Remember that heated exchange of a couple weeks ago between a lady reporter and President Kennedy? Well, when the press conference was carried the ABC and CBS networks carried it in full, but NBC deleted the entire episode. Six stations of the McClendon network are broadcasting Mos cow Radio, English news broad casts. A few columns ago I mention ed that a test Conelrad alert wasn’t received by many sta tions due to telephone equipment failure. Frighteningly enough, the same thing happened again last week, this time on a na tionwide’ schedule. Other notes: A Los Angeles newspaperman recently carried 10 A-bombs through customs, from Mexico, to California. On top of that* and there are pic tures to prove it, these bombs were planted in broad daylight in full view of hundreds of spec tators in such important places as right on the Golden Gate Bridge and the Oakland Bay Bridge. One bomb was planted at Parker Dam, where guards warned them not to take pic tures. Another was planted at Hoover Dam, which was crawl ing with guards, so the bomb was left in the men’s rest room. Another bomb was planted at an important highway junction. An other was put in the air-con ditioning unit of the Los Ange les airport. Another was plant ed within 50 feet of the Los Angeles harbor patrol headquar ters. Does that make you feel i i safe and snug? » Closing Thought: How beauti ful can time with goodness make an old man look. .
