General Chairman Jim Earn hardt says all booth display spaces, 21 in all, have been rent ed inside the armory to Edenton business firms. “It has heen a ‘sell-out’,” Earnhardt said, “with an additional six exhibitors signed Up for the display space outside the armory. These out side spaces will be occupied, he said, by Albemarle Motor Com pany, Byrum Implement & Truck Co., Colonial Motor Co., Edenton Tractor’ and Implement Co., George Chevrolet Co., and Hobbs Implement Co.” A number of the merchants will have special drawing events for merchandise prizes. An un usual one is that being planned by the Colonial Furniture Com pany which will make business gifts of thimbles and have a contest for estimating the num-> ber of thimbles in a giant plas-. tic bag in their display booth.! C.. W. Ramsey, Richmond dis trict sales manager, said 300-500 Club membership awards are presented for excellent retail sales performance. The Ford 300-500 Club was f founded in 1950 to recognize the perform ance of outstanding Ford sales men throughout the country. Aviation Committee Edenton’s potential for indus trial growth may lie substantial ly in the development of its municipal airport, according to j President Joe H. Conger, Jr., of; the Edenton Chamber of Com merce who appointed last week. Dr. Richard H. Hardin, former flight surgeon with the United States Navy from 1947-50, as chairman of the newly formed Aviation Committee of the Edenton Chamber of Commerce. “There is a distinct trend,” Conger said, “throughout the j country in this air age for in dustrial parks to be created ad jacent to airports.
