At the annual .meeting of the ; Beaver Hill Cemetery Associa-1 Lion Mrs. R. F. Tuttle was elected president. For the first time in several I years both of the debating 1 teams of Edenton High School' triumphed in the" annual triang ular debates. Edenton's debai-j ers were Winifred Hollowell,; Margaret Griffin, Fontaine Pet tus and Nelle Skinner. For the first time in history of Edenton High School, it was not represented by a baseball team, on the field. The decis ion was made due to the tire situation which made it diffi cult ip carry out a schedule. Little interest in a proposed ( zoning ordinance was apparent when only 19 persons appeared at a public meeting at the Mu nicipal Building to consider the matter. A survey party visited Eden ton lo investigate deposits of shell marl and other fossil shell deposits along the Chowan River. Practically an entire page in the Rolo-Gravure section of the Pittsburgh Press- was devoted to peanuts which included sev eral local pictures.
