Brcwnie Scouts then joined in sayihg their Brownie promise and singing the Brownie song. The Girl Scout program in Edenton is sponsored by the Edenton Woman’s Club and of ficers for the year were: Mrs. Elton Forehand, Jr., Girl Scout chairman; Mrs. John Graham, vice chairman; Mrs. J. J. The baccalaureate sermon was preached Sunday night by the Rev. Hugh S- Evans, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. In his remarks Mr. Evans pointed out that what the grad uates learned in school for the most part deals with arts, history and natural science and while it tends to help toward the goal of freedom, but that these truths are not a sure way to freedom. •Tn order to know - ' a creative | truth,” he said, ‘‘you must be I ready to toil and perspire.
