Attend Daughter's Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bunch and children left Saturday for San Antonia, Texas, where they at tended the wedding of their daughter, Miss Patricia Ann Bunch. Miss Bunch married Charles Shaw, son of the Rev. j and Mrs. Gordon Shaw. The newlyweds will make their home in San Antonia, where Mr. Shaw is serving in the U. S. Air Force. California Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Basnight of Alhambra, Calif., arrived by plane Friday to spend two weeks as guests of Mr. Basnight’s par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Basnight and his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Basnight. Hollowell Speaker At Lions Meeting Continued from Page 1, Section 1 In May of 1953 the Chowan Veneer Company was incorporat ed with a lease agreement with the Edenton Veneer Mill with an option to purchase. The of ficers of the Chowan Veneer Company were E. L. Hollowell of Edenton and Robert B. Spi vey and Thomas J. Holden of Windsor. No change in operation was made until 1961, when E. L. Hol lowell and his wife, Agnes Hol lowell, and M. A. Horner of New Bern purchased all of the stock owned by Holden and Spi vey. The new owners exercised the option and purchased all equipment and buildings from the Edenton Veneer Mill. Mr. Hollowell during his ad dress presented very interesting! figures pertaining to wages paid I in 1949 compared to present wages as well as changes in op eration, securing logs, etc,- He pointed out that the concern now has 56 persons on the pay roll with wages of about $187,- 200 annually. 20 YEARS AQO Continued from Page 1, Saction I open a modern restaurant in the T.
