Parrish, seconded by J. P. Ricks, Jr., and duly carried, recommenda tions with respect to awarding of Sewage Disposal Plant jobs will be delayed until further, discus sions are had with the engineers. Superintendent* Hines reported the completion of the 8” water line into the Industrial Park and advised the Board that service and fire protection was now available throughout this area. Chairman Byrum called on the committee composed of J. H. Conger, Jr., and J. P. Ricks, Jr., to discuss with John Graham, attorney for Mrs. Zell Ward, the notice sent her that the private line now serving her and others on N. C. 32 North would be dis continued on January 2, 1963. The committee reported that Mr. Graham advised them that this was an unsatisfactory ar rangement and lhat service should continue in the same manner as at present. The committee advised Mr. Graham that-the Town had pro vided a 6” water line in the area (N. C. 32 North) and that service was available to Mrs. Ward’s property, known as the Chappell Farm, upon payment of the existing service tap charge. Provided Mrs. Ward would sign a contract to the effect that property presently owned by her west of Mr. Griffin’s residence would not oppose the extension of these facilities at a later date, and would pay- its share of the cost as determined at the time of installation. That water service to her property on the south side of N. C. 32 North between the Medical Center and Mr. Griffin’s resident was available upon pay ment of the front footage charge, with interest of 6%, plus the existing service tap charge, pay able at the time service is re quested. Water service to Mr. Erwin Griffin’s property, on the south side and Mrs. Ward’s property on the north side of N. C. 32 North would be available under the same conditions. The properties presently be ing served by a private line, and owning water metering equip ment, would be given credit on the above cost for the water me ter, box and cutoff. The committee advised Mr. Graham that since water ser vice was available to the area under the above conditions, the Board feels termination of wa ter service to Mrs. Ward’s pri vate line is justified. Superintendent Hines reported that time clock had been in stalled on blinker lights located on Oakum Street in proximity of the Colored High and Gram mar Schools and that they would work automatically during the morning each day but that un til additional parts arrived the lights would have to be operated manually during the afternoon period. He reported further that these parts were expected any day from the manufacturer. On motion by Ralph E. Par rish, seconded by J. H.
