Peanut And Cotton Vote December 11 f Continued from Page 1. Section 1 want tq market their crop. Marketing quotas have been in effect continuously for the last I nine crops. In the last vote, 98.2. of the farmers voting ex pressed approval of using the quotas for the 1962 cotton crop. At least two-thirds of the farm ers voting must favor quotas be fore they may continue in ef fect. Tite prospective total for 1962- 63 exceeds the normal supply by about 5 million bales, and quotas had tC be proclaimed for the 1963-crop ox cotton. Marketing quotas operate through acreage allotments. A grower who exceeds the cotton acreage allotment for his xLarm, under a cotton marketing quOw l program, will be subject to a marketing quota penalty of 50 percent of parity on the farm’s excess production. Growers who do not exceed their cotton allot ments may market free of pen alty all the 1963 cotton produc tion from their farms. With a marketing quota program, price support, to eligible growers will be at a ievel between 65 and 90 percent of parity. Without a * quota program, support will drop to 50 percent of parity. Polling places for both referen dams wiil be open from 8 A. M., to 6 P. M., as follows: A Community _ ASCS Office and Grover Cale’s Store. B Community Earl Smith’s Heating Oil?
