PAGE TWO k -rtECTIOk ONE Christmas Party Nets |l4O Profit mk ■ ■gft-V-V?; K. ) ; The annual Christmas Festival, I sponsored by the Chowan County Home. Demonstration Clubs, held at the Chowan , Community Building, is considered ope of the most successful ones held to date. The annual festival is a money | making project for Home Dem onstration County Council with $l4O being realized in sales from this year’s festival. Door prizes were donated by The Bouquet Shop, Byrum’s Gift Shop and Lula White’s Florist. Winners in the drawings were Mrs. C. W. Overman, Mrs. W. H. Saunders and Mrs. Ole Nielsen. . The Christmas Festival Com mittee was composed of Mrs. Cameron Boyce, chairman, Mrs. M. T- Barrington, Mrs. Lester Copeland and Mrs. Carlton Perry. Local Sites Sought For Colonial Film Continued from Page L I Mrs. Kramer sent the film, 1 which was available at the mo ment, but it is scheduled for De cember 27. She also sent a copy of the script of the film which gives so much pertinent infor mation on this colonial town. “There is such a tremendous amount of material on Edenton and this area available,’’ Mrs. Kramer wrote Mr. Harris, ‘‘and I am sure Elizabeth Moore as well as myself and others will be more than happy to gather for you any of this material at your request. In commenting on the film “Ye Towne on Queen Anne's Creek,” Mrs. Kramer says it has. been shown on over 228 tele vision stations the first year and with only two copies made, they are about worn out and it is planned to have 20 additional black and white copies made for television purposes. One of the original films is completely worn out and the other, a color film, also will soon be replaced. The , films are in constant demand and Mrs. Kramer points out that the cost for making a new film is about $162. The film has been instrumental in attracting to Edenton visitors from all over the United States and Mrs. Kramer says many of them say they never knew about Edenton until they saw .the Edenton film on television pro grams. For that reason she is hopeful that it will be possible to make new films to further ad vertise this area.
