The original plan l was developed several years ago land is not up-to-date. A con servation plan is like everything telse it must be kept up-to-date !■ Mr. Bunch is planning to es tablish several grassed water ways in the natural depressions. Diversions will also be con structed to direct the water in them. The grassed waterways will provide a protected area for tie surface water to run Urough without creating erosion. Sltme of the land subject to emsion will be seeded to pas ture and other land needing drainage will be drained. This will provide additional land for q better crop rotation. Tie is planning on renovation of seme qf his existing pasture. All orop residues such as corn stalks and spybean stubble will be conserv ed and utilized to protect the land. Cover crops are being planned. The plan is bring up dated to meet the present day needs of Mr. Bunch and the land itself. These needs being based on the capability of the land and ids need for mainten ance and improvement. Albemarle SWCD Supervisors Meet / The supervisors oi' the Albe marle SWCD met last Wednes day morning in the Marina Res taurant in Elizabeth City.-,-The Chowan County Supervisors, L C. Bunch, Fahey Byrum and Joe Webb, Jr., met with the super visors of the other four coun ties in the District. Plans were completed for the land judging contest and the woodland clinic that the District sponsors each year. Plans were also complet ed on various other phases of district activities. In the Center Hill Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, Au lust 11, at 3 o'clock Miss Joan Ester Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Simpson Adams, became the bride of Elliott Lu ther Belch, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Euther Belch. The Rev. Henry V. Napiei performed the ceremony in a setting cf palms, gladiolus, snap dragons, chrysanthemums and candle light. Jakie Boyce play ed the wedding music, accom panied by Edgar Ray Jordan, soloist, who sang “O Perfect Love” and “The Wedding , prayer”. Cherries if desired. Combine all ingredients except fruit. Bring syrup to a boil, add pears. Cov er and s.mmer 20 minutes. Add plums and peaches and simmer about 10 minutes or until ten der.
