) Wills And Inheritance Laws
Do you understand the wills
and inheritance laws? An at
torney in Wilson, Cyrus Lee,
spoke at a county-wide Home
Demonstration Club meeting in
Wilson County. Lee discussed
property disposition according to
the 1960 Inheritance Law and
underlined the recent changes in
the statutes. Miss Naomi Mor
ris, gave a detailed study of
making wills.
Mrs. Ona Humphrey, home '
economics agent, says the meet-j
ing climaxed a month’s study by
area clubs on the importance of
having wills. •
Sells Home Products |
"There’s more than one way
to sell a product,” says Mrs, Bill
Folkerts and Mrs. W. M. Robert
son of the Chapel Hill Club in
Washington County. I
L Mrs. Folkerts had an abund
/ ance of pecans she hadn’t sold,
S so she is making pecan pies to
sell and has more orders than
she can fill. Mrs. Robertson is
getting a better price for her
eggs by using them in t cakes
than by selling them by the do
zen. Mrs. Frances Darden,
home economics agent, says Mrs.
Robertson bakes and decorates
birthday and wedding cakes on
special order.
Reports On Foods |
Food leaders in Lee County |
are going all out to reach the |
people in their county with in- j
formation on foods. Miss Mary j
Estelle Doyle, home economics'
agent, says the food supply lead- 1
ers are encouraging the produc-|
tion of vitamin C and A foods
in the gardens. |
The conservation leaders are
getting an early start by giving
reports on the use of the pres
-1 sure canner. They are also giv
ing information on how to freeze
grapes, juices and peanuts of
V which many families have an
abundance.
Homemakers Digest
The “Homemakers Digest” has I
been placed in an industrial!
plant in Hayesville. Mrs. Jus
tine Rozier, home economics
agent, says the '“Digest” is a
bulletin board containing items
of interest to working home
makers.
Since many homemakers are
now working, Mrs. Rozier thinks
this will be a good way to help
them stay in contact with the
Agricultural Extension Service.
Landscaping Plans
Since February is a good
month for transferring plants in
the yard, many homemakers.
have been busy. Miss Martha I
Purvis, assistant home economics
ager.t in Sampson County, says
