The slender bod ice, buttoned up the back with self-covered buttons, was <*•’«'••- laid in lace and designed with a portrait neckline and long sleeves tapered to points at the i wrist and highlighted with cut out lace appliques. j The controlled belle skirt was garlanded in floral sprays of, lace and flowed into a full j chapel train accented with a cluster of cabbage roses at the natural waistline. Her veil of English .illusion was arranged from a pill box of Aleneon lace reembroidered in pearls. She carried a nosegay of stephanotis centered with white orchids. Mrs. Burwell Winslow, sister of the bridegroom of Suffolk, was matron of honor and wore a floor length dress of pink peau de soie designed with round neckline, three-quarter length sleeves and circular headpiece of pink tulle. She carried a nose gay of pink rose buds. Bridesmaids were Miss Mar cella Ward, cousin of the bride and Miss Cheryl Hobbs of Belvi dere. They wore identical dress es and flowers as the honor at tendant. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Robin Ward, sister of the bride and Miss Carolyn Brinkley, cous in of the bride. Their dresses also were pink peau de soie and nosegays of pink rosebuds. Flower girls were Dannie Ward and Julie Adams, cousins of the bride. They wore white dresses and carried satin baskets of rose petals. Mr. Perry was best man for his son and ushers were Frank Rountree of Hobbsville. James Hofler of Sunbury, Paul Ward of Tyner, Burwell Winslow of Suffolk, Dan Ward, brother of the bride of Hobbsville, and Ber nie Baker of Durham. The bride's mother chose for her daughter’s wedding, a street length dress of dusty rose lace with matching accessories and a corsage of royal bouquet orchids. Mrs. Perry wore a dress of cloud sage green peau de soie and lace, matching accessories and an orchid corsage. Mrs. William B. McDonald of | Portsmouth was mistress of cere monies. The bride’s parents gave a re ception following the wedding, after which the bride changed 'To' a fhree-pieee* costume suit of black and brown with matching I accessories and the orchid lifted fiom her bridal bouquet. After a wedding trip the cou ple will be at home in Hobbs ville. Rehearsal Dinner A pre-rehearsal buffet dinner was given in the Fellowship Hall of Hobbsville Baptist Church on Saturday, August 29 at 6 o’clock, honoring Miss Nancy Dion and Sidney Lee Perry. Hosts and hostesses were Mrs. J. C. Harry, Mrs. B. E. Womble, Mrs. Clarence Brinkley, Mrs. Willie H. Riddick, Mrs, J. C. Adams, Oliver Hobbs, E. J. Hobbs and Mrs. William B. Mc- Donald. The hall was decorated in a color scheme of pink and white with burning candles in silver holders. Place cards were laid for 80 guests. The focal point was the three-tier pink cake lavishly dec orated and flanked with silver candelabra and cathedral can dles. Elizabeth City Man Wins Picture Awards Competing against leading por trait and commercial photogra phers of Virginia last week. Jack Williams, out-of-state studio pho tographer of Elizabeth City, re ceived a certificate of credit to ward the Degree of Fellow of Photography from Mrs. Polly Frye, president of the Virginia Professional Photographers’ Asso ciation. Master photographers of the Professional Photographers of America, including president elect Harper Lecper of Houston, judged 410 prints, in critical overtime sessions to determine final awards. Williams won three »red„ rib bons, two white ribbons and had all eight of his salon prints ac cepted for exhibition at the con vention gallery.
