house of Edenton. to Joseph Webb Campen, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Sidney Sawyer Campen. also oi Edenton. Miss Brickhouse is a
graduate of Karlsruhe American High School, Karlsruhe. Germany,
and Elizabeth City School of Practical Nursing of the College of
the Albemarle, Elizabeth City. She is presently employed at Cho
wan .Hospital in Edenton. Mr. Campen is a graduate of John A.
Holmes High School and attended Chowan College at Murfrees
boro. He is presently employed by the Daniels Construction Com
pany. A Christmas wedding is planned.

Bill Hollar, chairman of the
Membership Committee. Several

steak dinner.

War I Veteran mean?
A.—A person who served in
the armed forces during the
period . beginning on April 6.
1917, and ending on November
11, 1918. and in the case of a
veteran who served with the
United States military forces in
Russia, means the period be
ginning on April 6, 1917, and
ending on April 1, 1920. Service
after November 11, 1918, and
before July 2. 1921. is consid
ered World War I service if the
veteran served in t.he activi
military, naval or air service
after April 5. 1917 and before
November 12. 1918.
Q. What does the VA di
about my GI insurance if m\
wife and I should die? It would
go to my children but they art
too young to handle it.
A. The GA legal division
would appoint a guardian to
handle this as well as any VA
pension to which the children
.might be entitled.
