growers before it can
be placed in operation. A
referendum will be held on
Tuesday, November 23, 1965.
At least two-thirds of cot
ton farmers must approve
quotas for 1966 before the
new program can be put in
to effect. If more than one

for growers who do not ex
ceed acreage allotments.
In the same referendum
cotton growers in each coun
ty will have an opportunity
to vote on whether they
want to permit local cotton
acreage allotments to be sold,
leased or transferred out of
the county. Unless two-thirds
or more of the growers in a
county favor sales or leases
out-of-county, such transfers
may be made only within
county.
A referendum to determine

State ACP Allocation
The North Carolina alloca
tion for conservation work
under the 1963 Agricultural
Conservation Program is $6,
312.000. This is $52 000 les~-
than the State allocation for
1965.
The State program is being
developed and approval is
expected in the near future.
County programs will be de
veloped by the county de
velopment groups as soon as
the State Program is ap
proved.

keting cards when all sales
are complete.
The date for signing com
pletion of cover crop has
been extended until Novem
ber 25. If you have com
pleted your practice but have
not signed, do so bv the
deadline date.
