In the same referendum cotton growers in each coun ty will have an opportunity to vote on whether they want to permit local cotton acreage allotments to be sold, leased or transferred out of the county. Unless two-thirds or more of the growers in a county favor sales or leases out-of-county, such transfers may be made only within county. A referendum to determine t peanut marketing quotas .yill be in effect for 1966, !967, and 1968 will also be held on November 23. It two-thirds of those voting :avor quotas, producers whe riant within their allotment Vill be eligible for price upport. There will be a penalty for peanuts produced n excess of the allotment. Polls will be open from 8:00 A. M., until 6:00 P. M. at the following polling places: “A” Community ASCS Office and Grover Cale’s Store. “B” Community Earl Smith’s Store and E. Rosser Bunch's Store. “C” Community H. R Peele’s Store and L. C. Briggs Store. Please get out and vote or Referendum Day, November >3, 1965. State ACP Allocation The North Carolina alloca tion for conservation work under the 1963 Agricultural Conservation Program is $6, 312.000. This is $52 000 les~- than the State allocation for 1965. The State program is being developed and approval is expected in the near future. County programs will be de veloped by the county de velopment groups as soon as the State Program is ap proved. Reminders Return your peanut mar keting cards when all sales are complete. The date for signing com pletion of cover crop has been extended until Novem ber 25.
